Modification for the Fourth Edition[]

Changes to "Adventure Handout: Escape from Kalisz"[]

Date: early July 2000[]

Kalisz was the site of intense house to house fighting in what turned out to be one of the last major engagements of the war. This is the jumping of point for many campaigns.

ORDER OF BATTLE:(NATO and Allied Units)[]

OPERATION: RESET[]

The most notable change in the NATO and Allied Order Of Battle (OOB) is that Polish Troops are generally on NATOs side, with the exception of the Red Brigades which have sided with the Soviet Forces, or have gone independent.

Notable Units[]
  • US 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized) - the US 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized) is pushed back and crushed outside of Kalisz, with the finial order coming from their HQ "Good luck, You're on your own now."

ORDER OF BATTLE:(Soviet and Allied Units)[]

Notable Units[]
  • Soviet 35th Guards Air Assault Brigade - Located in the South Eastern outskirts of Kalisz the 35th Guards Air Assault Bgd. has been badly reduced after the battle, and is in no shape to do more than hold the hard earned ground.
  • Soviet 3rd Guards Spetsnaz Brigade - Located West of the now destroyed US 5th Infantry Division. The 3rd Guards is fighting a holding action against the much larger Polish Silesian Corps near Trzebnica.
