Central Africa is an area ripe for adventure in any of the three editions of Twilight 2000. The United Nations and African Union allow for multi-national groups of PCs. Oil is produced in several areas of Africa. This area can be used as a starting point for campaigns or as a transition area for campaigns going to or coming from the Middle East and Europe. According to the UN, the nine countries of Middle Africa are Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and São Tomé and Príncipe. All of the states in the UN subregion of Middle Africa, plus those otherwise commonly reckoned in Central Africa.

Due to the high need for Army Units in Europe the Africa Command requested a few Marine units.

Adventure / Campaign Ideas[]

  • Big game hunters caught on safari when the "Twilight War" starts.
  • A United Nations Mission
Also take a look at our page Central African UN Mission.

  • Mercenaries workling for, or against, an African country when the "Twilight War" starts.
  • Just passing through, taking an overland route to or from the Middle East.

The canon release East Africa Sourcebook (using the V2.2 rules and timeline) also offers details on the situation in Central Africa, specifically in the Central African Republic, Angola and the Congo including how the LRA and its allies and French supported Senegalese troops are fighting each other in the CAR by the spring of 2001 and how Angola was nuked by the South Africans in 1997 to pay back the Soviets and Cubans for what they did to South Africa. The chaotic situation in the Congo is also described, where the Great War of Africa left the Congo divided between the LRA, the Rwandans, their allies and various warlords and strongmen. An official follow up, detailing the situation in the Central African Republic, was recently released as part of Volume 6 of the Twilight 2000 fanzine on drivethrurpg.com - https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/443261/t2000-fanzine-you-re-on-your-own-no-6
